Vintage Stanley 1/2" capacity 500 RPM electric drill

Vintage Stanley 1/2" capacity 500 RPM electric drill
single speed, no reverse
used condition, runs good for an old drill.
it could use a new plug . the outer jacket was split so I taped it, the inner wires wee fine.
there is a switch by the upper handle. I am not sure what it is for. the drill only works with it in one postilion. maybe its for reverse?
